About Me...
I joined the Manufacturing and Technology Small Business Development Center (MTSBDC) at Columbus State Community College (CSCC) as the Program Manager in August 2007. I create, coordinate and promote programs and events to inspire, educate and engage individuals in our region who wish to start or grow a small business.
My educational background includes an Associate Degree in Multimedia Production, a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management, Summa Cum Laude, and I am currently completing my Masters in Marketing and Communication. I also hold a certificate from Columbus State in Training and Development and I am a LERN Certified Program Planner.
In collaboration with Michael Bowers, the Regional Director of the SBDC, I created this social network in response to the need our clients expressed to have a platform to network, share information, and receive support form other current and inspiring small business owners. We hope this site is beneficial to all small business owners regardless of what stage they are in and I welcome your suggestions and feedback on how we can improve it to better serve you.
In my free time (free time??) when I'm not creating social networks, I enjoy sunsets, long walks on the beach – oops! Sorry, wrong blog. Seriously, I love to vacation, love – love Florida, HGTV, doing anything or nothing at all with my best friends and neo-soul music, including artists India Arie, Jill Scott, and John Legend and the music of pop singer Colbie Caillat.

So over the Summer, I got together with some friends for a backyard barbeque. The food was delicious and the drinks weren’t that bad either. As soon as my friend’s sister heard I was writing on behalf of the experiences small business owners are having she pleaded, “Please write a post on the importance of customer service.”
She had just had…

If you know me or if you've read my profile bio on any of the social media websites I'm on, you know I love to vacation and I love Florida. Therefore, its only natural that anything associated with those two things is sure to grab my attention. But beyond the lovely palm trees, folicking days at the beach and adrenaline pumping rides at the best theme parks in the world, (Walt Disney World of course!) there is tremendous lessons to be learned from one of the most successful entrepreneurs of our…

As I meet our amazing guest speakers at the numerous events we host, I occasionally ask for words of inspiration and encouragement to pass along to our attendees and clients as they move along their journey as entrepreneurs. What strikes me most as I receive those quotes is the similarity in the statements to encourage those who meet opposition due merely to their age.
These words, I believe, are especially vital when it concerns those labeled as Generation X & Generation Y. Many in this gr…

I appreciate the request and am excited about participating in the Be the Boss conference. I feel blessed to have such great support from such great people like Mike Bowers and yourself at SBDC! Oh and can you please Thank Shanda for me, she went over and beyond. I am so indebted to her!
I just registered for the Carried The Bag session. Would you check whether I'm already registered? The site didn't give any confirmation. I'd like to pay for it with my credit card.
